I was skeptical before reading this book. I chose a lot of other books to read before i started on this series. When i finally got to reading it, it sucked me in and didn't let me out before I was done. The book is a bit corny at times, and it isn't mind altering literature, but it is so unbelievably entertaining! The story had a nice pace, suspense, a strong heroine, a "don't-mess-with-me" hero, who really isn't a hero, just a badass, a really hot badass. Another thing that made this books so appealing to me, was the love story. I'm a sucker for a good love story and this one felt real to me.
And the sex scenes are very literal, so literal a co-worker asked me why I was blushing so much when I was reading it during my lunch break at work.
It made me start right on the second book, and dreading when there were no books left. Which is why I haven't read the last two installments, I'm saving them for a vacation.
All in all, I recommend this book for all PNR fans, romance fans, and to a degree paranormal fans that can take some romance.
